Objective: To construct the intelligent control system of narcotic drugs in hospital ward, and improve the management safety and medication accuracy of narcotic drugs in medical institutions. Methods: The SWOT was used to analyze the internal strengths and weaknesses, external opportunities and threats of the intelligent control system of narcotic drugs and the strategies for improvement were put forward. Results: According to the requirements of national relevant laws and regulations on narcotic drug management, the strengthening, optimizing, pluralistic and promoting strategies should be formulated from the perspectives of safety, accuracy, efficiency and closed-loop management. Conclusion: The intelligent control system of narcotic drugs was constructed by SWOT analysis method to realize the full-process closed-loop traceable management in which the source of narcotic drugs can be checked, the whereabouts of drugs can be traced and the accountability can be done in the whole hospital so as to effectively increase the safety, accuracy and efficiency of narcotic drug management in the ward.
